What you learn
A drawing set a contractor can build from.
Software is taught as a means, not a subject. Every exercise ends in a sheet that could be issued — set out, annotated and to scale.
Setting up and drawing conventions
Units, layers, line weights and templates. The habits that keep a drawing readable six months later.
Plans, elevations and sections
Setting out an interior accurately, then cutting through it. Scale, dimensioning and annotation to professional standard.
Construction and joinery detail
Details drawn at 1:5 and 1:10 so a fabricator can price and build without ringing you.
3D modelling
Building the interior in three dimensions from your own plan, and keeping the model tidy enough to change.
Materials, lighting and rendering
Applying real finishes, lighting the scene for the time of day it will be used, and producing a photoreal image.
Presentation sheets
Post-production and board layout — the drawing set and the visual assembled into something a client can read.
A good idea needs a good drawing.
The drawings are what get built. They are also what gets you hired.
How it runs
Timetable
Taught on campus in belts, as the Certificate runs. Days and times confirmed at enrolment.
Equipment
You work on your own laptop, so the setup you leave with is the one you keep using.
Assessment
Portfolio-based. A complete drawing set and a rendered scheme, reviewed by practising architects.
