CERT / 01 · Programme
Certificate in Interior Design and Decoration
The full training. Twelve modules in three months, then a compulsory internship.
You will learn to plan a room, price it, draw it, specify it and defend it — in that order, and with your hands before your software.
Teaching is by practising architects and designers. Theory runs in the morning of a session and practice in the same afternoon, so nothing stays abstract. The residential project you begin in module four is carried through lighting, colour, finishes, fabrics and furniture until it is a complete, documented scheme — the first piece in your portfolio.
Assessment is portfolio-based. There is no path through this programme that does not end in work you can show.

Twelve modules
Every module ends in something you have made.
Made, measured, specified or defended. Open any module to see what you produce in it.
Our philosophy, and the twelve elements of design — a new way of understanding what you are actually seeing, and the message behind a style.
- A vocabulary that makes your work original rather than borrowed
On graduation you can interpret an architect's drawings and produce your own, draw perspectives by hand, and supervise tiling, floor finishes, painting, wall preparation, wallpaper and all ceiling types including P.O.P.
Your portfolio is your proof.
Nine pieces of coursework, a final retail, residential or corporate project presented to a jury, and an examination. Then three months in practice.
Who it is for
No previous experience in design is necessary.
We ask for enthusiasm and dedication. Classes are small, so the tutors know your work.
Beginning from nothing
You have never drawn a plan. Most of our students start here, and the first four modules are built for it.
Changing career
You are leaving another profession for design. Twelve weeks of two-day belts is designed to sit beside a working life.
Already decorating
You take on work already but want the spatial thinking, the drawings and the pricing to match.
Going further
